The Global Symposium on Occupational Safety and Health: Challenges and Solutions will be organised at National Law University Delhi from 1st to 2nd November 2022. The symposium is being jointly organised by National Law University Delhi, National Law Institute University, Bhopal, DGUV Germany, Indo-German Focal Point India and the National Labour Law Association, New Delhi.

About the Seminar

Occupational Safety and Health (OSH) focuses primarily on protecting workers in the workplace from accidents, injuries, and exposure to harmful substances. While accidents can happen at any time, the employer must ensure that they take steps to reduce the risk of incidents and maintain a safe working environment. ILO standards on occupational safety and health provide essential tools for governments, employers and workers to establish such practices and ensure maximum safety at work.

The seminar aims to critically engage with the various aspects that arise when dealing with OSH. It seeks to involve all the stakeholders and delineate their roles for the effective implementation of internationally recognised OSH norms. The seminar will deal with the following sub-themes among others —

  1. Occupational Safety and Health — Prevention Strategies

  2. Occupational Safety and Health — Training, Awareness and Capacity Building

  3. Innovation and New Technologies on OSH d) Occupational Safety and Health — Challenges and Solutions

  4. Practical experiences with the implementation of the Vision Zero strategy

  5. Law Regulating Occupational Safety and Health – Labour Code on OSH, etc

  6. International Best Practices On Occupational Safety And Health

  7. Role of Judiciary in the Promotion of Occupational Safety and Health

The seminar will also witness speakers who are renowned for their expertise in their fields. They include bureaucrats, professors, policy experts, industry experts and many more.

Seminar Abstracts

The Abstracts should be thematic and desired to be linked to the sub-themes. The length of the abstract should not be more than 500 words. It must be typed in Times New Roman, Font Size 12 on A4 size paper with 1″ margin on all sides with 1.5 line spacing using MS Word application. Footnotes should follow the SILC standard of footnoting. Endnotes are not allowed. The author’s brief profile should have an E-mail ID, contact number, and address at the end of the paper.

Approved Abstracts notification: 19th Oct 2022

Submission of registration form & charges: 21st Oct 2022

Abstracts should be submitted to the Convener of the Seminar at ctag@nludelhi.ac.in. Abstracts received after the stipulated deadline will not be entertained for inclusion in the Symposium. Professionals/Teachers/Students, without submitting any research paper, may participate in the Symposium by paying the requisite charges.
