The President in exercise of the powers conferred by article 223 of the Constitution of India, appointed Shri Justice Girish Chandra Gupta, senior-most Judge of the Calcutta High Court, to perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of that High Court with effect from the date Shrimati Justice Manjula Chellur relinquishes charge of the office of the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court consequent upon her transfer as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.
