Presenting CEDRAC during Session 4 of Cyprus Arbitration Day 2026, Mr. Christodoulos Christodoulou, Assistant Secretary of Cyprus Eurasia Dispute Resolution and Arbitration Center (CEDRAC), thanked the organisers for providing the institution an opportunity to introduce its work before the international arbitration community. Referring to the institution’s trajectory since its establishment in 2013, he noted that although CEDRAC initially did not receive the level of traction that it perhaps deserved, its position had changed significantly in recent years. He observed:
“CEDRAC is now becoming more active, more visible, and more operational.”

Describing the institution’s objectives, Mr. Christodoulou stated that CEDRAC functions as a Cyprus-based forum for regional and international disputes, aimed at assisting commercial parties through arbitration that is fair, quick, cost-effective, while operating from Cyprus as a neutral regional base.
He further outlined the institution’s key features, including its institutional framework consisting of a court and secretariat, mechanisms ensuring neutrality in appointments and conflict checks, and procedural flexibility allowing parties autonomy over matters such as tribunal composition, seat, language, and procedure, while still benefiting from institutional support where necessary.
Concluding the presentation, Mr. Christodoulou reiterated CEDRAC’s focus on strengthening efficient and internationally credible dispute resolution services through a framework centred on independence, flexibility, and institutional oversight.
