Madhya Pradesh High Court: In a writ petition filed by Larsen And Toubro Limited (L&T) seeking protection of the pipelines laid down by them under the Jal Jeevan Mission, the Single Judge Bench of Amit Seth, J., directed the Bharat Broadband Network Limited and NCC Limited to ensure that while executing the work of laying down optical fibre cables, no further damage is caused to the existing infrastructure.
Background
L&T contended that via a communication dated 27 November 2025, the Collector, Shivpuri, informed and requested Bharat Broadband Network Limited that NCC Limited was causing damage while laying down optical fibre cables, including the pipelines laid down by L&T under the Jal Jeevan Mission. Despite such communication, Bharat Broadband Network Limited did not take any action in the matter. Hence, the present writ petition.
Analysis
Considering the submissions and subject to hearing the other side, the Court directed Bharat Broadband Network Limited and NCC Limited to ensure that while executing the work of laying down optical fibre cables, no further damage is caused to the existing infrastructure, including the pipelines laid down by L&T and all safety measures in the said regard were being taken, till next date of hearing.
