ABOUT THE COMPETITION

Theme: Securities Law

The Fifth Edition of the Annual Moot Court Competition centres around the theme of Securities Law. With the rapid expansion of capital markets, increased regulatory oversight, technological advancements in trading platforms, and evolving investor protection mechanisms, securities regulation has emerged as a dynamic and critical area of contemporary law.

The growing complexity of financial instruments, corporate disclosures, insider trading regulations, market manipulation concerns, and the role of regulatory authorities has significantly shaped the legal landscape governing securities markets. This theme aims to stimulate discussion and extensive research on the regulatory framework governing securities, corporate accountability, market transparency, and investor protection in an increasingly globalised financial environment.

By focusing on Securities Law, the competition seeks to provide a rigorous academic platform for law students to engage with the legal and policy challenges surrounding capital markets, regulatory compliance, and financial governance, thereby fostering analytical thinking and practical advocacy skills in a rapidly evolving sector of law.

The competition will bring together both national and international students, fostering a rich and dynamic environment for cross-cultural exchange and global perspectives. This unique blend of participants will enrich the competition, offering valuable opportunities for networking and collaboration among future legal professionals. The event is scheduled for 28th and 29th March 2026.
