Himachal Pradesh National Law University (HPNLU), Shimla, under the leadership of Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof. (Dr.) Priti Saxena, successfully organised an expert panel session on CV Building and Mock Interviews on Saturday, 29 November 2025. The event, hosted by the Placement Assistance Cell, brought together distinguished legal professionals who guided students on effective CV drafting, strategic internship planning, interview preparedness, and early career choices in the legal profession.
The session commenced with welcome address from the Registrar, Prof. (Dr.) Alok Kumar, who encouraged students to actively engage with the speakers and utilise the platform to refine their career trajectories.
The expert panel comprised three esteemed legal practitioners: Mr. Anshuman Arha; Mr. Ayush Mishra, Associate at the Chambers of Roshan Santhalia; and Mr. Kanishk Sharma, Counsel at the Madhya Pradesh Advocate General’s Office.
During the interaction, Mr. Ayush Mishra elaborated on the components of a strong and concise CV, emphasising clarity, consistency and the importance of maintaining a detailed record of internship work, while urging students to diversify their profiles through moots, publications, competitions and varied internships. Mr. Anshuman Arha shared valuable insights into working with boutique law firms and offered guidance for students interested in arbitration, stressing the relevance of balanced subject exposure and providing practical advice on delivering confident, tailored responses during interviews. Mr. Kanishk Sharma addressed the practical expectations from young lawyers entering legal chambers, discussing the comparative learning opportunities across trial courts, High Courts and the Supreme Court, highlighting the High Court as offering optimal exposure for beginners, and also provided guidance on selecting mentors and making informed early career decisions.
The event further included discussions on corporate culture, handling practical interview questions and developing professional confidence. Students shared their past interview experiences, which enabled more personalised guidance from the panellists.
The Placement Assistance Cell, in collaboration with the Centre for Artificial Intelligence and Intellectual Property Rights, also held, on 28 November 2025, a guest lecture delivered by Ms. Reha Mohan, Senior Associate at Inttl Advocare. The session offered students an important opportunity to understand the fundamentals of trademark opposition and litigation, a domain of growing significance in the contemporary commercial and intellectual property landscape, and further complemented the University’s ongoing efforts to enhance students’ professional preparedness. The programme was organized by Dr. Navditya Tanwar, Chairperson, Placement Assistance Cell, HPNLU and her team.
