School of Law, Sharda University | Virtual Seminar on “Approach of Judiciary in Implementation of Alternate Dispute Resolution”

A Virtual Seminar on “Approach of Judiciary in Implementation of Alternate Dispute Resolution” has been organized by School of Law, Sharda University on 9th & 10th April, 2021. Former Chief Justice of India, Mr. Justice Dipak Misra graced the occasion as a Chief Guest in the Inaugural Session. Along with, Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dipak Misra, the session was attended by Hon’ble Prof. Sibaram Khara, Vice Chancellor, Sharda University, Prof. P.K. Malhotra, Former Secretary, Ministry of Law and Justice, Govt of India and Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Kulshrestha, Dean School of Law, Sharda University and 350 participants from all over India. Prof. (Dr.) Pradeep Kulsherstha, Dean School of Law, Sharda University delivered the welcome address.

The Chief Guest Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dipak Misra, Former Chief Justice of India emphasized the need for the Alternative Dispute Resolution and forecasted that India shall emerge as a global hub for arbitration. He further guided that how Universities can equip their students to acquire arbitration and mediation skills. In his concluding remark, he stated that Justice Orientation, Humanitarian Approach and Emphatical attitude are the key for the dispute resolution.

Distinguished speaker, Prof. P.K. Malhotra, in his opening remarks lauded the judiciary for implementation of Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) and also praised the role played by Lok Adalats in easing the burden of courts. Hon’ble Prof. Sibaram Khara, Vice Chancellor, Sharda University while addressing the session shed light on the importance of Mahatma Gandhi and Abraham Lincoln, who always preached to resolve dispute through settlement.

At the end of the session the Vote of Thanks was proposed.
