36th Edition of The Bar Council of India Trust All India Inter- University Moot Court Competition, 2019

Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT), School of Law is hosting the 36th Edition of The Bar Council of India Trust All India Inter – University Moot Court Competition 2019 from the 19th  to 21st October, 2019 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. It will be organized by none other than the Bar Council of India Trust.

Eligibility:

Universities are eligible to sponsor teams consisting of three students (two speakers and one researcher). Law colleges outside the Universities must get in touch with the universities to which they are affiliated to and get their nominations sent through Deans/Registrars of the concerned University. The nominations received from the law colleges directly (instead of through the University) will not be entertained. Only law students studying LLB course are eligible to contest.

Registration and Fee Details:

The Circular provides a formal invite to universities for this year’s competition. Those universities who have more than one law college may organise a selection contest in order to select the representative team of two law students. Those names of students with their mailing address and contact number has to be communicated to the mentioned professors in the Circular who are part of the Host Institute vie e-mail at bcimoot2019@kls.ac.in by 8th September, 2019 and a hard copy of the same delivered at School of Law, Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology Deemed to be University, Bhubaneswar- 751024 to the undersigned on or before 15th September, 2019.

Along with that fill in the required forms: Registration Form, Registration Fee Details and Travel Plan which are all attached as Annexure-A and Annexure-B.

A non-refundable participation fee of Rs.3500/- (Rupees Three Thousand Five Hundred only) has to be submitted by each participating team in the form of a Demand Draft drawn in favour of KIIT, and payable at Bhubaneswar (clearly stating the name of the participating institution at the reverse side of the demand draft), addressed to: Ms. Pratiti Nayak Faculty Convener KIIT Law School Moot Court Society School of Law, KIIT, Patia, Bhubaneswar, Odisha. PIN–751024 and such is to be received by 15th September 2019.

Accommodation and Transport:

Separate boarding shall be provided for Girls and Boys. Free boarding and lodging shall be provided for all participants. The sponsoring universities are expected to provide the travel costs of its representatives. However, if for any reason, they are unable to meet the travel costs, the Bar Council of India will provide second-class rail fare to the participating students.

Awards:

The Bar Council of India will award National Merit Certificates and other Prizes such as Winner University Trophies, Runner up University Trophies, Best Memorial of each round, Best Speaker of each round, Gold Medal for Best Male and Female Advocate of final round along with trophies and certificates, etc. Scholarships of Rs.12,000/- for one year will be provided to the Best Speaker each round of the competition. Outstanding briefs presented during the contest may be considered for publication in the Indian Bar Review i.e. in the Journal of the Bar Council Of India.
