NUSRL | 4th National Trial Advocacy Competition, 2019

National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi presents the 4th edition of National Trial Advocacy Competition 2019. The competition is a flagship event of NUSRL, which provides a real-life experience of criminal trial proceedings (witnesses, recording of statements, oath etc.) in close association with intriguing intricacies of criminal law.

The last edition witnessed the participation from over 20 teams from across the country. The bench saw the likes of Mr. Trideep Pais, Ms. Rebecca M. John, Mr. P.N. Rai and other eminent advocates from Supreme Court of India and Jharkhand High Court.

This edition’s Moot Problem has been prepared under the supervision of the Chamber of Mr. Indrajit Sinha, Advocate and Mr. Vipul Poddar, Advocate Jharkhand High Court and is just more thrill packed and meticulous than last year. The Moot Problem, Rules and Schedule for the Competition are attached herewith.

SUBMISSION

In the spirit of maintaining an uncanny representation of a Trial and to facilitate more engaging dialogue, there are no memorial submission rounds in this edition of the Competition.

REGISTRATION

The teams must first provisionally register by sending an email to the MCC at ntac@nusrlranchi.ac.in with the subject “Provisional Registration for 4th NUSRL NTAC, 2019.”

The participating teams are required to submit a registration fee of Rs. 4000/- by way of Demand Draft in the favour of “Registrar, NUSRL Ranchi” Payable at Ranchi.

ABOUT NUSRL

National University of Study and Research in Law, Ranchi (NUSRL) was established by Act No. 4 of Jharkhand State Assembly in 2010. The University has subsequently been recognized by University Grants Commission (UGC) in September 2011 u/s 22 of the UGC Act of 1956. The University started functioning in September 2010. At present, the University has more than 600 students on roll in the undergraduate course. The University has been included as a member of the CLAT w.e.f. CLAT 2012. At the undergraduate level, University offers Five-year Integrated B.A. LL.B. (Hons.) degree Program which consists of ten semesters. The University also started its Research Program in January 2012.
