Supreme Court refuses to interfere in the Govt. of Delhi v. Union Government matter

Supreme Court: The Court refused to interfere in the matter where Indira Jaising, appearing for the Government of NCT of Delhi had approached the Court to restrain the Delhi High Court from deciding the matter relating to the scope of power of the Government of Delhi versus the Union Government’s power in relation to NCT of Delhi.
It was contended by the petitioners that the High Court could not have entertained the writ petition, regard being had to the exclusive jurisdiction of this Court under Article 131 of the Constitution of India. However, the bench of Dipak Misra and U.U. Lalit noticed that the petitioners had themselves approached the High Court and that when the High Court has already heard the matter and reserved the judgment on all the issues including the preliminary issue, it is desirable that the High Court should pronounce the judgment.
