In a notification dated 23rd September 2014, the Central Government, in exercise of powers conferred by sub-clause (vi) of clause (n) of Section 2 of the Industrial Dispute Act, 1947 declared that the services in the ‘Manufacturing of Alumina and Aluminium’ and ‘Mining of Bauxite’ which are covered by item 30 and 31 of the First Schedule to the Industrial Dispute Act, 1947 to be ‘Public Utility Service’ with immediate effect for the purpose of the said Act for a period of six months.
