JusticeBlox by the Migration and Asylum Project (MAP) and NALSAR University of Law to promote access to justice and legal aid in India

JusticeBlox 2026 legal aid competition

JusticeBlox is an initiative by the Migration and Asylum Project (MAP) in collaboration with NALSAR University of Law aimed at engaging law students with questions of access to justice and legal aid in India. The competition invites participants to conceptualise original, evidence-based, and implementable legal aid programmes that can be adopted by institutions within the justice delivery system, with a focus on scalability and real-world impact.

The Final Rounds of JusticeBlox 2026 will be held in New Delhi as part of Nyaay Sabha 2026, the flagship annual convening of the Migration and Asylum Project. Nyaay Sabha brings together judges, policymakers, senior advocates, legal aid practitioners, academics, and civil society organisations working in the field of justice reform. Finalist teams will present their proposals before this distinguished audience, enabling student ideas to meaningfully contribute to ongoing access-to-justice initiatives.

There is no registration fee for participation. Each eligible law school may register one team comprising two to three students. The registration deadline is 3rd February 2026 (23:00 IST). The Concept Note and Rulebook, detailing the format, timelines, evaluation criteria, and submission requirements, can be found on the attached link:
