ABOUT DSNLU & CADR
Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University (DSNLU) in Visakhapatnam was established by the Andhra Pradesh Government under the DSNLU Act, 2008, with the mission of providing high-quality legal education. The university is recognized by the Bar Council of India (BCI). DSNLU is a premier law school equipped with state-of-art facilities and emphasizing on the clinical aspects to deliver world-class education, training and research.
The motto of DSNLU, “Yato Dharmastato Jayah,” signifies the holistic development of the human mind, emphasizing Purity, Knowledge, and Dharma. The institution is led by Hon’ble Justice Sri Dhiraj Singh Thakur, Chief Justice of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh, who serves as the Chancellor, and Prof. (Dr.) D. To promote academic discussion and research on ADR practices, the DSNLU Centre for Alternative Dispute Resolution (CADR) was established at Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Visakhapatnam. This event is spearheaded by the CADR, a dedicated initiative aimed at promoting the study and practice of ADR mechanisms. The Centre envisions creating a culture of dispute resolution that is efficient, equitable, and accessible. By organizing such events, CADR seeks to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application, empowering future legal professionals to contribute meaningfully to the arbitration landscape
ABOUT 2ND DSNLU Vis Pre Moot 2026
The 2nd DSNLU Vis Pre-Moot, 2026 marks a significant milestone in Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University’s commitment to advancing legal education and fostering excellence in arbitration. This event serves as a platform for young law students to engage in rigorous training and competition, simulating the experience of international arbitration proceedings.
Inspired by the renowned Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot, the 2nd DSNLU Vis Pre-Moot offers participants the opportunity to enhance their skills in research, drafting, advocacy, and oral argumentation. This initiative aims to provide a holistic learning experience by bringing together students, practitioners, and academicians to discuss and deliberate on contemporary issues in international arbitration.
Supporting Bodies
The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) has joined the 2nd Edition of the DSNLU Pre-Vis Moot as a Supporting Organization. Notably, the SIAC Arbitration Rules will be used at the 33rd Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot (Vis Moot) and the 23rd Vis East Moot in 2026.
Jus Mundi has come on board as the “Knowledge Partner,” and will provide participating teams with access to its platform in the weeks leading up to the competition.
SCC Times will also be partnering with the 2nd Edition of the DSNLU Pre-Vis Moot as the exclusive “Media Partner.”
Important Dates:
15th October 2025: Registration Begins
15th December 2025: Registration Ends
1st January 2026: Submission of Itineraries
13th and 14th February 2026: General Rounds
15th February 2026: Elimination Rounds.
Format of the Moot

The competition will feature four general rounds where each team will compete at least once as claimant and once as respondent.

Two general rounds will take place on 13 February 2026 while the other two on 14 February 2026.

The four highest-scoring teams from the general rounds will advance to the elimination phase, to be held on 15 February 2026 that consists of Semi-finals and Finals.
Registration Fees

Indian Teams: 8000/- INR

Foreign Teams: 100 USD

Coaches may be allowed in exceptional cases subject to the discretion of the Organizing Committee with additional fees of 4,000 INR or USD 50. The accommodation facility is limited to registered participants only and will not be extended to coaches or any additional members on campus.
The registration fee covers: Pickup and drop-off services between Visakhapatnam Airport/Railway Station and the DSNLU Campus (from 12th February evening to 16th February morning). On-campus accommodation for the duration of the event. Meals during the competition which include breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Access to training sessions on campus. Entry to the Social Networking Event. A grand Gala Dinner on the final’s night.
