Exam for Foreign Law Graduates

The Bar Council of India issued notification regarding the 23rd Bar Council of India Qualifying Examination for Indian Nationals Holding Foreign Law Degrees exam from 15th to 20th December, 2025 from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. in the premises of the Bar Council of India at 21, Rouse Avenue, Institutional Area, New Delhi- 110002.

All you need to know:

  1. There will be 6 physical papers of 3 hours each.

  2. Each paper will be 100 marks and passing marks will be 45 out of 100.

  3. This examination gives an opportunity of re-examination to all those candidates who have previously appeared for this examination and have 1 or 2 or more subject papers to clear.

    These candidates will have to appear for only those papers in which they are required to pass.

  4. No bare acts and books, including question answer guides, notes etc. Will be allowed for the following exams:

    • Constitution of India;

    • Contract Law and Negotiable Instrument Act;

    • Company Law.

  5. Only individual bare acts (not digests or books having short notes or bare acts with pen/ pencil noting or, chits) will be allowed for the following exams:

    • Civil Procedure Code and Limitation Act;

    • Criminal Procedure Code;

    • Indian Legal Profession and Code of Ethics.

  6. All candidates have to surrender their mobile phones, watches, gadgets having internet connectivity outside the examination hall.

  7. Candidates will have to carry the following original documents for the exam:

    • Admit cards;

    • Photo identity proof;

    • Passport/Aadhar;

    • Original mark sheets;

    • Degree certificates.

  10. Candidates who are found cheating, using unfair means, talking during exams, to other candidates, will have to surrender his/her paper and be debarred from the exam and/or be given a fresh answer sheet to write his/her paper etc. at the discretion of the invigilator.

  11. Application form:

    • Last date of submission- 25-11-2025.

    • It should be duly signed and scanned with self attested copies of all documentation.

    • Original form to be sent by post.

  12. Payment of fee:

    • Last date- 5-12-2025.

    • The fee link will be sent to candidates upon successful assessment of forms of candidates.
