About the NLIU- Justice R.K. Tankha Memorial International Arbitration Moot

The NLIU-MCA is pleased to announce the eighth edition of the NLIU-Justice R.K. Tankha Memorial International Arbitration Moot, to be held physically from 14th to 16th April, 2023.

The Moot has the distinction of being one of the most sought-after moots in India. In the past years, the Moot has attracted participation from premier national and international universities.

The Moot and its partners

This Moot is our flagship event, organized annually in partnership with the Office of Senior Advocate and Member of Parliament – Mr. Vivek Tankha in the memory of late Hon’ble Mr. Justice R.K. Tankha. The Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) is the official institutional partner for the moot and Allen & Gledhill LLP is the International Law Firm Partner. The friends of the moot include Africa in the Moot, Tales of The Tribunal, Brazil Very Young Arbitration Professionals (BRVYAP), Energy Related Arbitration Practitioner (ERAP), Portugal Very Young Arbitration Practitioners (PTVYAP), Racial Equality for Arbitration Lawyers (REAL), Asia Pacific Regional Arbitration Group (APRAG), DC Very Young Arbitration Practitioners (DCVYAP), London Very Young Arbitration Professionals (LVYAP).

Awards include cash prizes to the tune of INR 2,40,000, trophies, and access to various research resources.

Important Dates

  • Last Date for Provisional Registration: 30th January 2023
  • Last Date of Registration (to be completed only after confirmation): The teams which are provisionally registered will be informed accordingly.
  • Submission of Memorial: First/Second week of April, 2023 (tentatively)
  • Oral Rounds: 14th-16th April, 2023
  • Release of Case Record, Rulebook, and Brochure: Last week of January 2023 (tentatively).

Venue

The competition will be organized in a physical mode at the NLIU Campus in Bhopal.

Registration Procedure

The institutions can register themselves, for the Competition, provisionally through their designated Moot Court Association by filling the Google Form attached here.
