Col. Prakash Manik Bhat Memorial Scholarship 

NLSIU announces the Col. Prakash Manik Bhat Memorial Scholarship, instituted with the support of Mr. Aditya Vikram Bhat, NLS ‘LLB 2003, in memory of his father late Col. Prakash Manik Bhat. Late Col. Bhat was a decorated army officer who passed away this year.

The sponsorship will fully support one student enrolled in the B.A., LL.B. (Hons.) Programme of NLSIU for the duration of five academic years, commencing Academic year 2021-2022. The Scholarship will include tuition fee, facilities fee, hostel & mess fee as well as a stipend to the beneficiary.

 

Ajoy Halder THB Scholarship

The class of 2004 has instituted the Ajoy Halder THB Scholarship at NLSIU, in memory of their classmate, who passed away earlier this year due to COVID-19.

The scholarship will commence in AY 2022-23 and will run for 5 years. The scholarship is a collective contribution of Ajoy’s friends from the batch of 2004 – Abhishek Shinde, Akhil Kumar, Anunay Shahi, Arun Shankar, Atish Kumar Vatts, Kartikeya Singh, Rahul Sharma, Shubhodeep Shome, Sri Harsha Peechara and Sumant Prashant, who contributed a cumulative sum of Rs. 15 lakhs.

Ajoy Halder, NLS ‘LLB 2004, was a former partner of HSA Advocates and had worked with several leading law firms including Pinsent Masons in Singapore, as well as DSK Legal, Trilegal, Amarchand Mangaldas and Lexadigm. He later set up his own law firm ‘Halder & Associates’ in 2017. He had over 16 years of experience in advising on general corporate, project development and project finance transactions.

This is the second scholarship dedicated to the memory of late Mr. Halder. Kush Mehra and Paroma Dutt Mehr, had instituted the Ajoy Halder Memorial Scholarship earlier in September this year.
