On October 14, 2021, the Ministry of Labour and Employment (MoLE) has declared the services engaged in the Banking industry, which is covered under Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, to be a public utility service for a period of six months with effect from October 21, 2021.
MoLE has lastly declared the said industry to be a public utility service for a period of six months from April 21, 2021, vide Notification No. S.O. 1722 (E), dated April 16, 2021.
