ProMooter | Winners of the August ProMoot on Criminal Law, announced

More than 150 law students across the country participated in the August ProMoot on Criminal Law organised by ProMooters. Mansi Sethiya Jain from School of Excellence in Law, Chennai has won the August ProMoot on Criminal Law. Ann Clara Tomy from School of Law, Christ University, Bangalore was declared the Runner Up. The 3rd and 4th Semi finalists were Ms. Sanjana Dadmi from Damodaram Sanjivayya National Law University, Vishakapatnam and Mr. Divyansh Rawal from Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies, GGSIPU, Delhi. 

The final rounds were judged by Hon’ble Mr. Justice Michael D’Cunha (High Court of Karnataka), Hon’ble Mr. Justice G. S. Sistani (Former Judge, High Court of Delhi), Ms. Geeta Luthra (Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India), Mr. Vikas Pahwa (Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India), Mr. Sandesh Chouta (Senior Advocate, High Court of Karnataka) and Mr. Bharat Chugh (Partner at L&L Partners, Former Civil Judge, Delhi).

Hon’ble judges and senior members of the bar appreciated the efforts and the well articulated arguments presented by the participants and wished them the best for their future endeavours.

They also appreciated the initiative taken by Ms. Sneha Nagaraj, Advocate & Founding Partner at Frontier Legal, Bangalore (Founder, ProMooters), Ms. Shruthi Ramakrishnan, Independent Legal Researcher (Head of Research, ProMooters) and Mr. Rajat Shah, Advocate, Edupreneur (Head of Knowledge Building, ProMooters) for organizing the monthly Promoot competition and giving insights and opportunities to law students especially amid the pandemic.

ProMoots are monthly mini moots organized by ProMooters on different areas of law and held over the virtual platform. ProMooters aims to encourage mooting among law students across the country and provide them with an opportunity to hone their argumenting and legal research skills.
