The team comprising of Ms Ira Pandya (4th year), Ms Parina Muchhala (3rd year) and Mr Pratik Irpatgire (4th year) recently represented Maharashtra National Law University Mumbai at the 3rd TNNLU-CCI National Moot Court Competition, 2020 from 6th-8th March. The Competition was hosted by the Competition Commission of India and Tamil Nadu National Law University, Tiruchirapalli.
They were adjudged winners of the Competition and additionally won the prize for Best Memorial.
A total of 24 teams from across India, including several other National Law Universities, participated in the said competition.
The team received a consolidated cash prize of INR 55,000/- along with a one-year complimentary access coupon to SCC Online and EBC.
The moot proposition was set in the gaming industry and dealt with potential anti-competitive effects in two-sided markets. In addition to Section 3 and 4 based allegations, it also witnessed an interesting interplay between intellectual property law and antitrust law and the possible import of collective dominance in India.
