About the Workshop

The skill of Contract Drafting, Negotiation and Reviewing is one of the most important traits required in the legal field. The law of Contracts is the genesis of some of the key areas of legal practice and is of significant value to the legal profession- be it for practicing in a court, working with a law firm or as an in-house counsel of a company.

The Corporate Law Committee, School of Law, CHRIST (Deemed to be University) in association with ‘Corp Comm Legal’ is conducting a two-day National Workshop on ‘Excellence in Drafting Commercial Contracts’ to deliver specialized training which will be imparted by Mr. Bhumesh Verma, Managing Partner, Corp Comm Legal. The workshop will provide conceptual and practical insights into the nuances of Contract Drafting, Negotiation and Reviewing. It intends to bring academia and legal industry together and will enable Corporate and Commercial Law teachers and students to bridge the gap between classroom learning and their career objectives.

Eligibility

The Workshop is open for all students who are pursuing a three or five-year LL.B. degree in Universities/Colleges/Law Departments in India, as recognized by the Bar Council of India, as well as advocates and academicians.

About the Resource Person:

One of the most recognized Indian Corporate lawyers, Mr. Bhumesh Verma has been practicing corporate law for the last 25 years.  He has been a partner with some of the biggest law firms in India such as Khaitan & Co and Link Legal India Law Services.  A coveted Chevening Scholar in 2000, he has also been listed among Top 100 Indian Lawyers.

He has also authored two books on Contract Drafting skills and edited one on Mergers & Acquisitions.

The participation in the 2-day National Workshop on “Excellence in Drafting Commercial Contracts” is restricted to 200 participants only, on a first-come basis. The registration fee includes workshop kit, working lunch and refreshments during the days of the workshop. Please note that accommodation is not included in the registration fee mentioned above. However, accommodation details shall be provided subject to availability and payment.
