The GNLU International Moot Court Competition (GIMC) was launched in 2009, with the objective of creating a platform for testing the legal acumen and potential of law students globally. After a stellar 13th Edition, the 14th Edition of the GNLU International Moot Court Competition is scheduled to be held from 15th to 19th February 2023, at Gujarat National Law University, Gandhinagar. About the GNLU International Moot Court Competition

The competition boasts of successful past collaborations with the World Trade Institute (WTI), University of Bern; EPLO – Academy of European Public Law, IELPO LL.M. Programme, University of Barcelona; Borden Ladner Gervais LLP; Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations; Lakshmikumaran & Sridharan Attorneys, India; Centre for WTO Studies; Centre for Trade and Investment Law (CTIL); EBC-SCC Online; Westlaw; Thomson Reuters India, and Trade Law Guide. Over the years, GIMC has seen an excellent response from participants across India and overseas as well as moot problems drafted by various legal luminaries around the globe.

Important Dates

  • The deadline for submission of soft copy memorials is 3rd February, 2023. Any soft copy submission made after 3rd February 2023 (11:59 P.M. IST) will be considered a late submission and shall be penalized with 1 mark for each day of delay.

  • Any soft copy submission after 8th February 2023 (after 11:59 P.M. IST) shall not be accepted and the Team will not be allowed to participate in the Competition, except at the discretion of the OC.

  • The Inaugural Ceremony, Orientation of Participants and Researchers' Test shall be conducted on 15th February 2023.

  • The Preliminary Rounds shall be conducted over two days — 16th and 17th February 2023.

Awards

The Winners and Runners-up of the 14th edition will receive cash prizes of INR 50,000 and INR 25,000 respectively, in addition to other awards and opportunities from our collaborators. The Best Orator (Final Round), the Best Orator (Preliminary Rounds), the Best Written Submissions and the Best Researcher will also be felicitated with awards.
