At every step of its journey in India, LSAC is committed to provide opportunities to best and brightest students to fulfil their potential irrespective of their gender, caste, economic background, language, sexual orientation, ability and regional identity.

LSAC is constantly introducing new initiatives in India to help ensure that law colleges are accessible to everyone. At the same time, law schools should be able to attract and train exceptionally gifted students to provide all kinds of legal services, from the everyday legal needs of families and small businesses, to courts and government agencies, to international corporations and law firms.

Like last year, this year as well, LSAC is awarding two scholarships for the aspiring lawyers taking the upcoming 2021 LSAT—India test, the opportunity to study at some of the best law schools in India.

  • The LSAT—India Topper Scholarship – This will award up to ₹4 lac to the 2021 LSAT—India Scholar — the student who achieves the maximum marks out of all candidates who appear for both March and June 2021 LSAT—India. This is being awarded for the third year in a row.
  • Shamnad Basheer Access to Justice Scholarship – Taking our commitment to increasing diversity in legal education even further and to honor the memory of Prof Shamnad Basheer, who worked tirelessly to empower underprivileged children by giving them access to quality legal education, LSAC had introduced a new diversity-focused scholarship for 2020 administration. Keeping the same in mind, we are introducing this scholarship for the second time for the 2021 test administration. The scholarship aims at allowing better access to legal education for talented students across all of India’s socioeconomic groups. It will be based on an essay competition. The deadline for submission of essay entries is midnight on 1st June 2021.

  • We are hosting an Insta Live with the LSAC Team for a Live Q&A on the topic of the essay and share expectations for you to give your best. Please follow us on @discoverlawindia on Instagram for more updates. The Insta Live will be hosted on 11th May 2021 at 7:00 PM

Both the scholarship will cover tuition and halls of residence fees for the first year of a law programme at a LSAC Global Law Alliance college, up to a maximum of ₹4 lac.
