Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA Team – Ms. Aaditi Bose, Ms. Devanshi Tiwary and Ms. Ishita Goyal, third year students, participated and were adjudged ‘Winners’ in 11th School of Law, CHRIST University, Bengaluru National Moot Court Competition, 2020 organized by School of Law, CHRIST University from November 5-8, 2020. The team was awarded E-certificates and a cash prize of INR 25,000/-.
Ms. Devanshi Tiwary was adjudged as the ‘Best Speaker’ and was awarded a cash prize of INR 5,000. Ms. Ishita Goyal was adjudged as the ‘Best Researcher’ and was awarded a cash prize of INR 5,000. The team also bagged the ‘Second Best Memorial’ award.
A total of 36 teams across India participated in the competition. The rounds took place virtually due to the pandemic. The moot problem was based on the constitutional validity of orders passed under the Disaster Management Act, Centre-State relations in reference to the GST Council, insertion of Article 279 A under the 101st Amendment Act, 2016, and the ambit of Governor’s Speech.
