The Lex Osmose programme are customized single/double credit courses which are optional for the Under Graduate and Post Graduate Programmes and is outside the CGPA calculation. The Lex Osmose in its Phase I (June – December 2020) will offer single credit courses to the desiring students on various interfaces of Law with social sciences, humanities and pure sciences apart from law subjects. Launching the new programme, the Vice-Chancellor of HNLU, Prof Vivekanandan said that Lex Osmose – meaning permeation of various branches of knowledge with law to be offered by domain professionals from academia, legal practice, public policy enthusiasts, science and technology professionals to the students of HNLU.
Each of the well designed and customized programme to supplement the regular curriculum with the emerging interfaces of law can be opted by the students. The programme to have a minimum of 20 enrollments to a maximum of 50 students will also have few slots for teachers who desire to enroll for the same. Lex Osmose to be conducted in online mode and also by physical mode (when the University reopens after the pandemic subsides) is free of cost to students and the course teachers will be paid as per University regulations.
The first phase of the programme is offering 1. Advanced course on Patents 2. Technology and Law 3. Communication in Courts and 4. Framing Legal issues in Suits and Arbitration. The phase has a single credit course with a duration of 16 hours with a customized evaluation &attendance requirement leading to the certification.
Prof. Vivekanandan added that “the future phases of the programme will also admit desiring students from other law schools based on select admission criteria.” The programme to be conducted by the WebEx platform can be accessed even through Smartphones apart from Laptops and Desktops. The newly created division of ‘Digital@HNLU’ comprising the faculties of Ms. Debmita Mondal, Mr. Ankit Awasthi, Mr. Jeevan Sagar, and Mr. V. Surya Narayana Raju are executing this programme.
