The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 comes into force today.

S.O. 135 (E).—In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (3) of section 1 of The Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Act, 2019 (40 of 2019), the Central Government hereby appoints the 10th day of January, 2020 as the date on which the provisions of the said Act shall come into force.

On the occasion of the 70th Constitution Day, the Joint sitting of both the Houses of Parliament was held and during the same, Parliament passed the Transgender Persons (Protection of Rights) Bill, 2019.

  • This Act provide for the punishment of offences against transgender person only six months to 2 year even in rape case also. Why? THIRD GENDER PEOPLE ARE ALSO HUMAN BEINGS. Why so called members of parliament as well as president can’t understand this thing….. please grow up…. read Article 14,15, 21 & 44 of Indian Constitution
