Faculty members, students and administrative staff of RGNUL, Punjab carried out a candle march on February 20, 2019 to pay homage to the martyrs of terrorist attack on CRPF convoy at Pulwama, J & K. More than three hundred students along with Prof. Dr. Naresh K. Vats, Registrar, RGNUL, Punjab, Prof. Dr. Anand Pawar, Professor of Law and Chief Warden, Capt. S.P. Singh, Administrative Officer and other faculty members of the University joined the candle march to mark the sacred memory of the martyrs in absolute silence. The candle march started from University Academic Block and halted at University flagpole to pay homage to the departed souls. Prof. Vats appreciated the student’s initiative to mark the solemn occasion with silence and urged all the members of University community to remain steadfast in our commitment to constitutional values.
A donation desk was also laid and a sum of Rs.18263/- was collected by the joint efforts of all members of academic community and students. The funds will be donated to the corpus of “Bharat ke Veer” Fund run by Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India.
