The Comparative Constitutional Law and Administrative Law Quarterly (CALQ) in association with Increasing Diversity by Increasing Access [IDIA], Rajasthan Chapter and National Law University, Jodhpur organised a guest lecture by Dr. Carl Malamud on “Access to (all) Knowledge” on 16th August 2018, for the students as a part of their flagship guest lecture event, this semester.

Dr. Carl Malamud is a former visiting professor at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology Media Laboratory and is the former chairman of the Internet Software Consortium. Being a public domain activist, Dr. Malamud is also the founder of Public.Resource.Org, a California-based NGO. Public Resource has been working intensively in India, including an effort to make available all Indian Standards for free on the net, an issue that is the subject of Public Interest Litigation suit in the High Court of Delhi. Dr. Malamud has authored over 8 books and has also worked closely with the Obama administration. In his lecture he also covered issues relating to implementation of Aadhar and data protection. Dr. Malamud  addressed the students on ‘access to (all) knowledge’ and also made a comparison between the treatment of the ‘edicts of government’ under the U.S and Indian Constitutions.
