Supreme Court: The Bench comprising of Madan B. Lokur, S. Abdul Nazeer and Deepak Gupta, JJ., ordered the sealing of the resort complexes that are existing without the required approval for the same in Nilgiris, Tamil Nadu.

The list of 39 resort complexes had been given in the report of the Collector. Amongst the 39, no one was present to represent 27 resorts and therefore it was deemed that they have accepted the Collector’s report, and were directed to be closed down or sealed by the Collector.

The remaining 12 resorts have been granted 48 hours in order to produce all the documents concerning the approval and valid title and possession for running the resorts, and in case of incomplete approval being discovered by the Collector, the respective premise should be closed down or sealed by him.
