In a mail to the students by the Vice-Chancellor of the NALSAR University of Law, Prof. Faizan Mustafa,  made it clear to students that due to reduction of grant by the State Government and increase in the expenses that may happen due to implementation of 7th Pay Commission recommendations, there is a need for more funds. He further stated that BCI has also been pushing for increase in the intake as the class strength should be either 60 or multiples of 60. in order to maintain the same standards in the university, he has proposed to increase the intake of University for the BA, LLb course from 80 to 120. The classes will be run in two sections and the infrastructure is ready for this. Students joining in next academic year will also have an option to choose BBA LLb also. 

The website of NALSAR also has a notification regarding this. This notification states that the total number of intake of students will be 120 out of which 15 seats will be for foreign nationals. Out of the Remaining 105 seats, 84 seats will be for all India and 21 seats for the students of Telangana.
