G.S.R. 1066(E).\u2014<\/strong>The following draft of certain rules further to amend the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989,\u00a0which the Central Government proposes to make in exercise of the powers conferred by section 110 of Motor Vehicles\u00a0Act, 1988 (59 of 1988) is hereby published as required by sub-section (1) of Sction 212 of the said Act for information\u00a0of all persons likely to be affected thereby and notice is hereby given that the said draft will be taken into consideration\u00a0after expiry of thirty days from the date on which the copies of this notification as published in the Gazette of India are\u00a0made available to the Public.
\nThe objections or suggestions which may be received from any person with respect to the said draft rules before\u00a0the expiry of the period aforesaid will be considered by the Central Government.
\nObjections and suggestions to these draft rules, if any, may be sent to the Joint Secretary (Transport), Ministry\u00a0of Road Transport and Highways, Transport Bhawan, Parliament Street, New Delhi 110 001.<\/p>\n

DRAFT RULES<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. (1) These rules may be called the Central Motor Vehicles (—-Amendment) Rules, 2016.
\n(2) They shall come into force with effect from the 1st day of October, 2017, after their final publication in the\u00a0Official Gazette.
\n2. In the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989, Rule 115B shall be renumbered as sub-rule (1) thereof and after sub-rule\u00a0(1) as so numbered, the following sub-rule shall be inserted namely:-<\/p>\n

\u201c(2) The mass emission standards applicable to CNG vehicles under sub-rule (1) shall be applicable to OE\u00a0manufactured LNG vehicles having GVW ? 3.5 T when LNG is used:
\nProvided that the LNG composition meets the fuel specification for LNG, as notified by the Central Government\u00a0in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas or as per notified BIS specifications for automotive application.
\nProvided further that the OE manufactured LNG vehicle having GVW ? 3.5 T shall meet the safety requirements\u00a0as laid down in AIS 024 and AIS 028, as amended from time to time.\u201d<\/p>\n
