No. Stds\/SP (Water & Beverages)\/Notif (2)\/FSSAI-2016.\u2014<\/strong>Whereas the draft of the Food\u00a0Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Amendment Regulations, 2016, further to amend the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011 were published as required by sub- section (1) of section 92 of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006 (34 of 2006), vide notification of the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India number F.No. Stds\/SP (Water & Beverages)\/Notif (2)\/FSSAI-2016, dated the 16th August, 2016, in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part III, Section 4, inviting objections and suggestions from the persons likely to be affected thereby, before the expiry of the period of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public;<\/p>\n

And whereas, the copies of the said Gazette were made available to the public on the 19th August, 2016;<\/p>\n

And whereas the objections and suggestions received from the public in respect of the said draft\u00a0regulations have been considered by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India;<\/p>\n

Now, therefore, in exercise of the powers conferred by clause (e) of sub- section (2) of Section 92 read with section 16 of the said Act, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India hereby makes the following Regulations further to amend the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011, namely:-<\/p>\n

Regulations<\/strong><\/p>\n

1. Short title and commencement.\u2014<\/strong>(1) These regulations may be called the Food Safety and\u00a0Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Eleventh Amendment Regulations, 2016.<\/p>\n

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their final publication in the Official Gazette.<\/p>\n

2. In the Food Safety and Standards (Food Products Standards and Food Additives) Regulations, 2011, in Regulation 2.3, in sub-regulation 2.3.30, relating to \u2018Carbonated Fruit Beverages or Fruit Drinks\u2019, after clause 3, the following clause shall be inserted, namely:-<\/p>\n

\u201c3A. In case the quantity of fruit juice is below 10.0 per cent. but not less than 5.0 per cent. (2.5\u00a0per cent. in case of lime or lemon), the product shall be called \u2018carbonated beverage with fruit\u00a0juice\u2019 and in such cases the requirement of TSS (Total Soluble Solids) shall not apply and the\u00a0quantity of fruit juice shall be declared on the label\u201d.<\/p>\n
