(i)\u00a0 These Regulations may be called the \u201cIndian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) (Amendment) Regulations, 2016 \u2013 Part \u2013 I\u201d.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">\u00a0\u00a0 (ii) They shall come into force from the date of their publication in the Office Gazette.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">2. In the \u201cIndian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002\u201d, the following additions\/modifications\/deletions\/substitutions, shall be, as indicated therein:-<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">3. In Chapter 1-B-Duties and responsibilities of the Physician in general, Clause \u2013 1.5 under the heading \u2013<strong> Use of G<\/strong><strong>eneric names of drugs,<\/strong> the following shall be substituted: &#8211;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px; text-align: justify;\">\u201c<strong>Every physician should prescribe drugs with generic names legibly and preferably in capital letters and he\/she shall ensure that there is a rational prescription and use of drugs<\/strong>\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: right;\">[ADVT.-III\/4\/Exty.\/253(100)]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Foot Note: &#8211;<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 The Principal Regulation namely \u201c Indian Medical Council (Professional Conduct, Etiquette and Ethics) Regulations, 2002\u201d, were published in Part III, Section 4 of the Gazette of India on the 6th April, 2002, and amended vide MCI Notification dated\u00a0 22.02.2003, 26.05.2004, 10.12.2009 and
