The objective of the Rule is to regulate the distribution of quality food grains to the \u2018entitled person\u2019 and to provide food security allowance in case of non-supply of the food grain within a prescribed time limit. The Rule provides as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul  type=\"disc\">\n<li   ><span>defines      the \u2018<i>entitled person\u2019<\/i> who can      claim the benefit under the said Rule &#8211; as a person belonging to eligible      household and is in possession of valid ration card. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/li>\n<li   ><span>the      time limit for allocation of food grains and making them available for      distribution to the \u2018entitled person\u2019. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/li>\n<li   ><span>payment      of <i>food security allowance<\/i> in      cases of non-supply of food grains by the end of the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> &nbsp;week of the month following the month in      which non-supply occurred.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/li>\n<li   ><span>the      mode of payment of food security allowance.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/li>\n<li   ><span>to      lodge a complaint with the District Grievance Redressal Officer in case of      willful lapse of any fair price shop dealer.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/li>\n<li   ><span>a      person shall not be entitled to the food security allowance, if he does      not visit the fair price shop to claim his entitlement during the month. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/li>\n<li   ><span>empowers      the \u2018nodal officer\u2019 to submit a summary report to the District Magistrate      about the status of supply-non supply of food grains. <o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/li>\n<li   ><span>District      Grievance Redressal Officer to deal with complaints relating to the      quality of the food grains within a period not exceeding 15 days from the      date of making of complaint.<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p   ><span  >&nbsp;<\/span><\/p>\n<p >\n<p  align=\"right\"  ><b><span>-Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution<o:p><\/o:p><\/span><\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Central Government in consultation with the State Government made the Food Security Allowance Rules, 2015 on 21-01-2015.
