{"id":69532,"date":"2016-09-15T09:15:23","date_gmt":"2016-09-15T03:45:23","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=69532"},"modified":"2016-12-19T15:20:29","modified_gmt":"2016-12-19T09:50:29","slug":"nlu-delhi-in-collaboration-with-herbert-smith-freehills-organised-3rd-edition-of-international-negotiation-competition","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2016\/09\/15\/nlu-delhi-in-collaboration-with-herbert-smith-freehills-organised-3rd-edition-of-international-negotiation-competition\/","title":{"rendered":"NLU Delhi in collaboration with Herbert Smith Freehills organised 3rd edition of International Negotiation Competition"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">National Law University, Delhi in collaboration with Herbert Smith Freehills LLP organized the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> edition of the International Negotiation Competition from 09 \u2013 11 September 2016.\u00a0The competition, which was started in 2014, is the first of its kind in India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">With the growth of Alternate Dispute Resolution (ADR) as a viable alternative to litigation, the competition seeks to introduce students of the top law universities across the globe to international negotiations and to hone their skills, with simulations as close as possible to actual international environments. This year\u2019s competition tested the participants\u2019 ability to negotiate deals surrounding broadcasting agreements, defense mergers, renewable energy production deals, and even the workings of a food-production company.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">23 teams participated in the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> edition of the event, which included eleven foreign teams. In this, the 3<sup>rd<\/sup> edition, 28 teams flew to National Law University, Delhi from across the globe to participate in the competition this year. Dave Knobel and Callum Lee of the University of the Sunshine Coast, Australia were adjudged the winners, and\u00a0Camilla Pondel and Kieran Pender of the\u00a0Australian National University were adjudged the runner up. Jeremy Roe of the University of Melbourne was adjudged the Best Negotiator. Terence Aurora and Tammanna Aurora of V. M. Salgaocar College of Law, Goa won the award for the Best Negotiation Plan. Orla Murphy and\u00a0Relebohile Chabeli of Rhodes University, South Africa was voted the team that best upheld the spirit of the
