The Kerala Law Academy Law College organized a National Seminar on the \u2018Law of Forensic Science: Art of Decoding Crime\u2019 on the 29th<\/sup> of July at the V.R. Krishna Iyer Memorial Hall situated at the college campus. The seminar was conducted in collaboration with the Centre for Advanced Legal Studies and Research [CALSAR, research arm of KLA].<\/p>\n

\u201cForensic Science can be put across as a study and application of science to matters of law. The intersection of science and law provides new tools and methodologies for discovering truth. Forensic law also includes the business of providing, accurately and timely, decisions in our criminal justice system\u201d said Shri. Lokanath Behera IPS (State Police Chief, Kerala) while inaugurating the seminar.<\/p>\n

Dr. Bismi Gopalakrishnan (Associate Professor & Head Dept. of Law, University of Kerala), Dr. Mukesh Kumar Thakar Msc.,PhD (Prof. & Former Head, Dept. of Forensic Science, Punjab University, Patiala) were the others present during the inaugural ceremony. Dr. Mukesh Kumar, who also chaired a session, elaborated upon the latest advancements in the field and also analysed the loss of forensic evidence due to the mismanagement of the crime scene.<\/p>\n

The seminar was divided into four sessions. Students from various universities all across the country actively participated in the same. Around 40 papers on different themes and facets of the topic were also presented during the course of the day<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
