We would be grateful if you could publicise our Call for Papers on your platform to help us reach interested academics, researchers, practitioners and students.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Journal is an annual student-edited, peer-reviewed law journal that seeks to provide a forum for engaging discussions on contemporary issues in domestic and international law and policy. The last volume of the Journal (Volume VIII) was launched by the Honourable Justice B.V. Nagarathna in August 2026 and is available in the Journal&#8217;s archives.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Editorial Board invites original and unpublished submissions engaging critically with issues of contemporary legal relevance.<\/p>\n<p>The details of the Call for Papers are set out below:<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Submission Categories<\/p>\n<p>The Journal invites submissions under the following categories:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Articles:<\/span> 5,000&#8212;10,000 words<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Essays:<\/span> 3,000&#8212;5,000 words<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Case Notes and Legislative Comments:<\/span> 2,000&#8212;5,000 words<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Book Reviews:<\/span> 2,000&#8212;3,000 words<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">All word limits are inclusive of footnotes and the abstract but exclude ancillary text, including the Table of Contents and Bibliography. Authors are expected to remove such ancillary text from their submissions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Submission Guidelines<\/p>\n<ol style=\"list-style-type: decimal;\">\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Subject Matter:<\/span> Authors are encouraged to select themes of contemporary relevance that engage analytically with an issue of law. Submissions dealing with foreign themes should also examine their relevance in the Indian context.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Co-authorship:<\/span> Co-authorship is permitted, with a maximum of three authors per submission.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Multiple Submissions:<\/span> Authors may not resubmit the same piece during a single review cycle. However, they may submit a separate piece during the same cycle.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Formatting:<\/span> All submissions must be formatted in Times New Roman, font size 12, with 1.5 line spacing.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Citation Style:<\/span> Submissions must conform to the Oxford University Standard for Citation of Legal Authorities (OSCOLA), 5th Edition. All citations must be in footnotes and cannot be included as endnotes. The citation guide is available <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.ox.ac.uk\/sites\/default\/files\/2026-03\/OSCOLA%205.pdf\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"color: #1155cc;\">here<\/span><\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Mode of Submission:<\/span> Submissions are accepted only electronically, in Microsoft Word (.docx) format, and must be emailed to <a href=\"mailto:nludjls@nludelhi.ac.in\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"Strong\" style=\"text-decoration: underline; text-underline-style: solid; text-underline-mode: continuous; text-underline-color: #1155cc; color: #1155cc;\">nludjls@nludelhi.ac.in<\/span><\/a> with the subject line <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8216;Submission &#8212; JLS&#8217;<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Review Process:<\/span> The Journal follows a rolling submission and review process. Following review, manuscripts may be returned to authors with suggestions concerning their content, style or structure. Acceptance may be contingent upon incorporating the suggested changes.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Originality:<\/span> Submissions must constitute original, unpublished work and must not be simultaneously under consideration by another publication.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Copyright and Licensing:<\/span> Upon submission, the manuscript shall become the property of National Law University, Delhi. All rights are licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 licence. Authors reproducing their work subsequently must credit its original publication in the Journal. The University reserves the right to reproduce, publish and distribute submitted papers across all media, including electronic and print media.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Plagiarism:<\/span> Submissions must not infringe the rights of any third party. All manuscripts will be screened using anti-plagiarism software, and plagiarism in any form will result in immediate rejection.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">AI Policy:<\/span> The Journal follows a strict AI policy. Authors may not use AI to generate substantive content or citations. AI use is permitted only for proofreading and basic sentence restructuring.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Queries and Communication:<\/span> All questions and clarifications must be directed exclusively to <a href=\"mailto:nludjls@nludelhi.ac.in\" target=\"_blank\"><span class=\"Strong\" style=\"text-decoration: underline; text-underline-style: solid; text-underline-mode: continuous; text-underline-color: #1155cc; color: #1155cc;\">nludjls@nludelhi.ac.in<\/span><\/a>. Authors must not communicate directly with individual members of the Editorial Board regarding their manuscripts, in view of the Journal&#8217;s strict double-blind review process.
