Since its inception, Lex Terra has published 48 issues on various debatable facets of the environment and environment-related analytical articles. Several academicians, practitioners, and students have contributed to the webzine. Through Lex Terra, we endeavour to foster better ideas and build a community of environmentally conscious individuals from legal and non-legal fraternities.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Lex Terra is committed to free and open access to all academic research. No publication fees will be charged to authors at any stage of the review. In addition, no subscription cost will be charged to leaders. Issue 49 is tentatively scheduled for publication in January 2027.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"\"><span style=\"color: #242424;\">The word limit<\/span>, <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">exclusive<\/span> of footnotes, is as follows:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 36pt; text-indent: -18pt;\">1. Short Articles: 2000 words,<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 36pt; text-indent: -18pt;\">2. Enviro-legislative analysis: 1000 words,<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 36pt; text-indent: -18pt;\">3. Enviro-judgement analysis: 1000 &#8211; 1500 words.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; text-underline-style: solid; text-underline-mode: continuous;\">SUBMISSION GUIDELINES<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-decoration: underline; text-underline-style: solid; text-underline-mode: continuous;\">General Guidelines<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>Lex Terra exclusively accepts manuscripts that revolve around the themes of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">environmental law and policy research<\/span>. Manuscripts that are not related to environmental law <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">are summarily rejected<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Possible sub-themes <span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">include but are not limited to:<\/span>Natural Environmental Impact Assessment; Ecological Restoration; Pollution Control; Carbon Markets; Coastal Regulation; Environmental Ethics; Ecofeminism; Environment, Business and Human Rights; Ecosystem Services; and Environmental Economics.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>While contributors are permitted to submit articles on the aforementioned themes across any jurisdiction, we especially encourage submissions exploring customary environmental standards and practices pertaining to <span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">North-East India<\/span>. In addition, hyperlinks to an online citation must be removed. Only the text of the link should be retained.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Main title:<\/span> Times New Roman, Size 14, small capitals, center aligned, in bold.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Headings within the main body:<\/span> Times New Roman, Size 12, upper case, left aligned, in bold.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Subheadings within the main body:<\/span> Times New Roman, Size 12, title case, left aligned, in italics.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>We encourage lengthy articles to be divided into headings and subheadings for better structure. However, authors are advised to use only two heading levels. Only content used verbatim should be put in quotation marks.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Speaking footnotes are strictly prohibited.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; text-underline-style: solid; text-underline-mode: continuous;\">REVIEW PROCESS AND TIMELINE<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>All the manuscripts will go through a double-blind peer-review process.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The deadline for submissions to be considered for <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Issue 49<\/span> is <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">14<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> November<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">t<\/span>, 2026<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Please note that the peer review process for Issue 49 will commence only after the deadline. Hence, authors can expect to receive the final decision with regard to the acceptance or rejection of the submitted manuscript in the first week of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">January 2027<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The manuscript will be judged on the following <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">parameters<\/span>:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: circle;\">\n<li>\n<p>Use of Language<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Style and Structure<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Referencing and Research<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Relevance and Contribution to Existing Literature<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Since the Editorial Board is currently preoccupied with the upcoming issues of Lex Terra and additional university commitments, no requests to expedite the review process shall be entertained.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>It is to be noted that in the event we receive an adequate number of submissions for Issue 49, subsequent submissions will be considered for the forthcoming issues of Lex Terra in 2027.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The preliminary screening process that involves running articles through the plagiarism test may take up to <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">21 days<\/span>, and the Editorial Board shall endeavour to respond to the authors at the earliest.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The Editorial Board shall communicate its decision of acceptance or rejection to the author directly within the stipulated time frame.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Contributors are requested to address follow-up emails to the Editorial Board only after 21 days.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The authors, while submitting, agree to make any edits, changes, or modifications that the Editorial Board deems necessary for the manuscript&#8217;s ultimate publication.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">If the author&#8217;s manuscript is considered for publication, they shall be wholly liable to make any required revisions to their manuscript (whether procedural or substantial) in good faith and are expected to cooperate with the Editorial Board at all times.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline; text-underline-style: solid; text-underline-mode: continuous;\">EDITORIAL POLICY<\/span><\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>The Editorial Board reserves the right to modify these guidelines at any point in time, without prior notice to the author(s).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The decision of the Editorial Board in any dispute shall be final and binding.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Upon final acceptance of the manuscript for publication by the Board, the copyright over the manuscript is vested in the Registrar, NLUJAA.
