He was elevated as a Judge of the Allahabad High Court in 2011 and became a permanent Judge in 2013. He subsequently served as Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court before assuming charge as Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court in January 2025.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Following his elevation to the Supreme Court, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre<\/span>, Judge of the Delhi High Court, has been appointed to perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of the Delhi High Court from the date Justice Upadhyaya relinquishes charge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Justice Sunita Agarwal<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Justice Sunita Agarwal, Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court, has also been appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court. She was elevated to the Allahabad High Court in 2011 and became a permanent Judge in 2013. She was appointed Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court in July 2023.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak<\/span>, Judge of the Gujarat High Court, has been appointed to perform the duties of the office of Chief Justice of the Gujarat High Court from the date Justice Agarwal relinquishes charge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh, Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court, has been appointed as a Judge of the Supreme Court. He was elevated to the Jharkhand High Court in 2012 and later served as Chief Justice of the Tripura High Court before assuming charge as Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court in July 2025.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Following his elevation, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Justice Puthichira Sam Koshy<\/span>, Judge of the Telangana High Court, has been appointed as <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Acting Chief Justice of the Telangana High Court<\/span> from the date Justice Aparesh Kumar Singh relinquishes charge.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The appointments of Justice Nitin Wasudeo Sambre, Justice Manash Ranjan Pathak and Justice Puthichira Sam Koshy were also notified by the Department of Justice on <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">5 October 2026<\/span> under Article <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-0001574965\" target=\"_blank\">223<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/DocumentLink.aspx?q=JTXT-0002726967\" target=\"_blank\">Constitution<\/a>.
