The competition brings together law students from across India to engage with contemporary issues involving inter-State River water disputes, environmental protection, constitutional law, wildlife conservation and sustainable development.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">ABOUT THE ORGANIZERS<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The SRM School of Law, SRM Institute of Science and Technology, established in 2014, is a leading legal education institution offering three-year and five-year integrated law programmes as well as postgraduate legal education. The School combines quality legal education, practical training, research and interdisciplinary learning to develop socially responsible legal professionals.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The School has also been actively promoting experiential legal education through moot courts, research and practical legal training, providing students with opportunities to develop advocacy, research and courtroom skills.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">ABOUT THE EVENT<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The 8th National Tamil Moot Court Competition &#8212; 2026 is a national-level advocacy competition organised by SRM School of Law, SRMIST, with the objective of promoting legal advocacy and research in the Tamil language.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Moot Proposition is centred on a fictional inter-State river water dispute involving the Sempon River, raising complex questions concerning the allocation and regulation of river water, large-scale water infrastructure, environmental impact, forest and wildlife conservation, sustainable development, and the rights and interests of downstream States and Union Territories.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The proposition also engages with principles such as the Public Trust Doctrine and Intergenerational Equity, alongside constitutional and environmental law provisions.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">A distinctive feature of the competition is that all pleadings, written submissions and oral arguments shall be in Tamil.<\/p>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\">AIR ONLINE SUBSCRIPTION SPONSORSHIP<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">We are delighted to acknowledge AIR (All India Reporter) for extending its valuable support to the 8th National Tamil Moot Court Competition &#8212; 2026. The semi-finals and finals shall be conducted through a knockout format.
