V.D. Satheesan, Hon&#8217;ble Chief Minister of Kerala, will inaugurate the seminar. Hon&#8217;ble Mrs. Justice V. Mohana, Judge, Supreme Court of India, will be the Chief Guest. Hon&#8217;ble Mr. Justice Soumen Sen, Chief Justice, High Court of Kerala, will deliver the Special Address, while Hon&#8217;ble Mr. Justice Anil K. Narendran, Judge, High Court of Kerala and President, Board of Governors, Kerala Judicial Academy, will deliver the Thematic Address. Prof. (Dr.) G. B. Reddy, Vice-Chancellor, NUALS, will deliver the welcome address.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The seminar seeks to bring together the judiciary, legal practitioners, academics, filmmakers and performing artistes to examine the complex legal questions emerging at the intersection of creative expression and law. Copyright in music, musical contracts, artificial intelligence and technology in the commercial music industry, sound recordings, digital platforms, cinema contracts and copyright protection for choreography will be among the issues discussed during the academic sessions. The Music and Law session will be chaired by Hon&#8217;ble Mrs. Justice Prathiba M. Singh, Judge, High Court of Delhi, and Hon&#8217;ble Mr. Justice Somasekhar Sundaresan, Judge, High Court of Bombay. Speakers include Prof. Prabuddha Ganguli, CEO, Vision-IPR, Mumbai; Prof. V. K. Ahuja, Director, Indian Law Institute, New Delhi; Sri. Jaideep Gupta, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India; and Sri. Pragyan Pradip Sharma, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Cinema and Law session will be chaired by Hon&#8217;ble Mr. Justice Raja Vijayaraghavan V., Judge, High Court of Kerala, and Hon&#8217;ble Mr. Justice Sabyasachi Bhattacharyya, Judge, High Court of Calcutta. The session will feature filmmaker Sri. Shyamaprasad, filmmaker Sri. Goutam Ghose (online), Prof. (Dr.) Anirban Mazumder of the National University of Juridical Sciences<\/p>\n<p>,<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">advocate and TMT partner Sri. Nikhil Narendran, Dr. Rachitha Ravi of Kerala Kalamandalam, and Dr. Muthumani Somasundaran, Assistant Professor, Inter University Centre for IPR Studies, CUSAT and cine artiste.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">A distinctive feature of the seminar will be its integration of legal and cultural perspectives. The inaugural evening will feature Navarasa, a classical dance presentation by Kerala Kalamandalam, followed by a musical confluence in association with the ITC-Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. The programme will also include a Nangiar Koothu performance and other curated cultural presentations.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The final academic session, titled &#8220;Interpretation of Music and Interpretation of Law,&#8221; will explore the relationship between musical interpretation and legal interpretation. It will be chaired by Hon&#8217;ble Mr. Justice Aniruddha Bose, Former Judge, Supreme Court of India and Director, National Judicial Academy, and Hon&#8217;ble Mr. Justice C.V. Karthikeyan, Judge, High Court of Madras. Sri. Jaideep Gupta, Senior Advocate, Supreme Court of India; Pandit Partha Chatterjee, Sitar Maestro; and Sri. Sreevalsan J. Menon, Carnatic Vocalist &amp; Composer, will participate as speakers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The seminar will conclude on September 13 with performances by Pandit Uday Bhawalkar, an exponent of the Dhrupad tradition, and Sri. Sreevalsan J.
