On September 8, 2026<\/span>, the President of India appointed Justice Rohit Kapoor<\/span> as a Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court and Santosh Sharma, Sushma Sawant and Sudhir Kumar<\/span> as Judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court.<\/p>\n

According to a notification issued by the Department of Justice, Justice Rohit Kapoor, presently an Additional Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court, has been appointed as a Judge of that High Court with effect from the date he assumes charge.<\/p>\n

The appointment of Santosh Sharma, Sushma Sawant and Sudhir Kumar as Judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court, will take effect from the dates they assume charge.<\/p>\n

The appointments follow the Supreme Court Collegium’s recommendations dated August 18, 2026<\/span>. The Collegium approved the proposal to appoint Justice Rohit Kapoor, Additional Judge, as a Permanent Judge of the Punjab and Haryana High Court<\/span>.<\/p>\n

On the same date, the Collegium approved the appointment of Santosh Sharma, Sushma Sawant and Sudhir Kumar<\/span>, all Judicial Officers, as Judges of the Chhattisgarh High Court.<\/p>\n
