The President of India has appointed Nchumbemo Mozhui<\/span> and Helen Dawngliani<\/span> as Additional Judges of the Gauhati High Court for a period of two years.<\/p>\n

According to a notification issued by the Department of Justice on 8<\/span> September, 2026<\/span>, the appointments have been made under Article 224(1)<\/a> of the Constitution<\/a> and will take effect from the dates on which the two appointees assume charge of their respective offices.<\/p>\n

The appointments follow the recommendation of the Supreme Court Collegium made on August 18, 2026<\/span>. The Collegium had approved the proposal for appointment of Nchumbemo Mozhui<\/span>, an Advocate, and Helen Dawngliani<\/span>, a Judicial Officer, as Judges of the Gauhati High Court.<\/p>\n
