About the Organisers<\/p>\n

People’s Education Society was established in 1933 by the founding trustees of the society, Late Shri. S. K. Patil (eminent social leader), Late Charandas Meghji (industrialist) & Late Dr. D. N. Kale.<\/p>\n

The Society has established Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law, Mumbai which offers a five years degree course, a three years degree course and Masters in Law.<\/p>\n

About the Competition<\/p>\n

People’s Education Society’s ‘Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law’ is to host “The 14th Annual Adv. B. P. Apte Memorial National Mock Trial, Moot Court & Judgment Writing Competition, 2026”, from October 9, 2026 to October 11, 2026 at Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law, Dadar (West), Mumbai.<\/p>\n

This Annual Event of Adv. Balasaheb Apte College of Law, Mumbai is hosted in the fond memory of Late Shri. Balwant Parshuram Apte (widely known as Adv. Balasaheb Apte), a distinguished legal luminary and also a noted parliamentarian, in furtherance of his aim to attract students of law and young advocates towards the actual practice of advocacy and also to commemorate his contribution to the legal fraternity.<\/p>\n

This year, the competition is based on the Transplantation of Human Organ and Tissues Act, 1994<\/a> along with Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act, 1999<\/a>. The uniqueness of this competition is that it is not confined to any particular proceeding of a single forum \/court. The participants shall get an opportunity to experience the proceedings of a Trial Court and the High Court as well.<\/p>\n

The preliminary round will be in the nature of a Mock Trial and the semi-final and final rounds will be a Moot Court arising out of a Writ Petition filed in the Hon’ble High Court.<\/p>\n

Eligibility<\/p>\n

Bona-fide LL.B. students pursuing 3 or 5-years degree courses during the academic year 2025-26 are eligible to participate. The students must be deputed by their respective colleges. Students above the age of 25 years, as of October 9, 2026, are not permitted to participate in this competition.<\/p>\n

Location<\/p>\n

This is an Offline Event which will be held on campus at<\/p>\n

(Accommodation shall be provided only to outstation teams upon their request. Kindly refer to the ‘Rules and Regulations’ for the provisions of accommodation.)<\/p>\n

Registration Procedure<\/p>\n

The teams shall secure a provisional registration on or before 29th<\/span> August, 2026<\/span>. The final registration shall be confirmed by sending an email with the attachment of the duly filled and scanned Registration Form (soft copy) along with the proof of payment on mootabacl@gmail.com <\/p>\n

The last date to complete the registration process and payment of registration fees is 7th<\/span> September, 2026.<\/span> A total of 24 teams<\/span> shall be allowed to participate in the competition.<\/p>\n

Fee Details<\/p>\n

The registration fees shall be INR 3,000\/-<\/span>, payable as per the payment details mentioned in the ‘Rules and Regulations’. The participants must mail the proof of payment along with the registration form.<\/p>\n

Lodging and boarding facilities will be provided only to outstation participants at an additional cost of INR 5,000\/-<\/span> per team. The procedure for the same is mentioned in the ‘Rules and Regulations’<\/p>\n
