The Moot Court Society of Aligarh Muslim University Malappuram Centre, successfully organized the Intra-Departmental Moot Court Competition 2026 from 25—26 April 2026. The event commenced at 11:30 AM on 25 April 2026 with the recitation of verses from the Holy Quran by Ms. Shabista Imam, in keeping with the longstanding traditions of AMU. This was followed by a motivating welcome address delivered by Dr. Shanawaz Ahmad Malik, Course Coordinator.<\/p>\n

The preliminary rounds witnessed commendable performances across all courtrooms. Advocate Ajmal, along with other faculty members, presided as judges during the preliminary and semi-final rounds, meticulously evaluating the teams on the basis of their legal arguments, research, advocacy, and presentation skills. Four teams successfully advanced to the semi-final stage: Team IDMCC 01 (Respondent), Team IDMCC 12 (Petitioner), Team IDMCC 03 (Petitioner), and Team IDMCC 07 (Respondent). Following closely contested semi-final rounds, Team IDMCC 03 and Team IDMCC 07 secured their place in the final round, which culminated in an intense and high-stakes legal battle at 3:00 PM.<\/p>\n

The Valedictory Session was graced by distinguished dignitaries, including Sri Vinay Menon V., President of the District Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (DCDRC), Palakkad; Mohammad Shareef P.P., Assistant Professor at VIT School of Law; and Adv. Jithin Paul Varghese of M\/s Lawyers United, Ernakulam.<\/p>\n

The session began with a warm welcome address by Dr. Amir Yousuf Wagay, Convener of the Moot Court Society, who expressed his appreciation for the presence and support of the Chief Guests while welcoming the Course Coordinator, faculty members, dignitaries, and students.<\/p>\n

This was followed by the Presidential Address delivered by Dr. Shanawaz Ahmad Malik, who congratulated Team IDMCC 07 (Petitioner) and Team IDMCC 03 (Respondent) for advancing to the final round. He also appreciated the efforts of Advocates Mr. Said A. and Mr. Rashid. Although Director Prof. Dr. M. Shahul Hameed was unable to attend and was acknowledged in absentia, the Course Coordinator commended the dedication of the student office-bearers and the teachers-in-charge, including Dr. Amir Yousuf Wagay, Adv. Prabhita C., Dr. Ghalib, Dr. Deeba Khanam, Dr. Imran Khan, Dr. Shally, Dr. Basharat, Dr. Maryam Azhari, and Dr. Samreen Ahmed, for their collective contribution in making the competition a resounding success.<\/p>\n

Following their inspiring remarks, the results of the competition were announced. The team comprising Ms. Sidra Fatima, Mr. Pratyaksh, and Ms. Fayezah emerged as the Winners, while Ms. Rumaysah, Mr. Ashraf, and Ms. Mariyam Zehra secured the Runner-up position. Individual achievements were also recognized during the ceremony. Ms. Arfeen Masud received the award for Best Speaker, Ms. Tamanna Bi was declared Best Researcher, and Team IDMCC 03 won the award for Best Memorial.<\/p>\n

The two-day event concluded with a formal vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Alisha Azeem, Secretary of the Moot Court Society. She expressed sincere gratitude to the teachers-in-charge and the guest judges for their dedication in adjudicating the rounds, ensuring the competition was held the highest standards.
