The Competition will be conducted in a hybrid mode. The Preliminary Rounds and Quarter-Final Round of Arguments will be held online on 13<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> June, 2026 (Saturday) and the Semi-Final Round and Final Round of Arguments will be held offline on 27<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> June, 2026 (Saturday) in Mumbai. The said Rounds shall be judged by Members of the tax fraternity, Members of the ITAT and the Judges of the Hon&#8217;ble Bombay High Court. There shall be prizes for the Best Team, 1<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">st<\/span> Runner-Up Team, Best Speaker, 1<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">st<\/span> Runner-Up Speaker, and Best Memorial.<\/p>\n<h2>THE MOOT SCHEDULE:<\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 2%;\">Last date to Provisionally Register: 13<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> May, 2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 2%;\">Last date for Final Registration for the Competition: 17<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> May, 2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 2%;\">Last date for seeking Clarifications: 19<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> May, 2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 2%;\">Last date of submission of Soft Copies of Memorials: 7<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> June, 2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 2%;\">Last date of submission of Hard Copies of Memorials: 21<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">st<\/span> June, 2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 2%;\">Preliminary and Quarter-Final Round (Online): 13<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> June, 2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Semi-Final and Final Round of Arguments (Offline): 27<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> June, 2026<\/p>\n<h2>REGISTRATION:<\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">All teams must provisionally register by sending an email to <a href=\"mailto:taxmootglc@gmail.com\" target=\"_blank\">taxmootglc@gmail.com<\/a>. The registration fee of Rs. 3,000\/- (Rupees Three Thousand only) is to be paid via NEFT. The details of the same shall be provided once the provisional registration has been confirmed.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Accommodation shall be provided only to teams qualifying for the Offline Round(s) of Arguments.<\/p>\n<h2>AWARDS<\/h2>\n<p>The following awards shall be presented:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>Best Team &#8212; INR 12,000\/-<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>1<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">st<\/span> Runner-Up Team &#8212; INR 8,000\/-<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Best Speaker &#8212; INR 5,000\/-<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>1<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">st<\/span> Runner-Up Speaker &#8212; INR 3,000\/-<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Best Memorial &#8212; INR 5,000\/-<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>ELIGIBILITY:<\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">All students of any recognised law college of the country can participate. Each team shall comprise Three Students (Two Speakers and One Researcher). No person who has appeared before the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT) in any professional capacity shall be eligible to participate in the Competition. Any breach of this Rule shall render the concerned team liable to immediate disqualification from the Competition, at the discretion of the Organisers.<\/p>\n<h2>ABOUT THE ORGANISERS:<\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">In light of celebrating its 90<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> Anniversary, the Chamber of Tax Consultants introduced the National Tax Moot Court Competition in 2017 with the support of the Government Law College, Mumbai. This year marks the 9<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> Edition of the National Tax Moot Court Competition, now renamed as The Dastur National Direct Tax Moot Court Competition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Government Law College, established in 1855, is the oldest law college in Asia, a pioneer in legal education, an institution par excellence. The generations of legal luminaries who this unique institution has nurtured have made a seminal contribution to the evolution of the Indian Legal System. Dr. Dinshaw Mulla, Mr. A. A. A. Fyzee and Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar have all been the principals of this venerated institution. The first Chief Justice of India, Justice Harilal Kania was an alumnus of GLC. Former Chief Justices of India &#8212; Justice M. H. Kania, Justice P. N. Bhagwati, Justice S. H. Kapadia and Justice S. P. Bharucha all began their careers at GLC. Former President of India &#8212; Ms. Pratibha Patil, Mr. Soli Sorabjee, Mr. Fali Nariman, Mr. Anil Divan, Mr. T. R. Andhyarujina, and Mr. Goolam Vahanvati have all been students of this very institution.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Chamber of Tax Consultants (CTC) Mumbai is a non-profit organisation established in the year 1926. The organization was formed to serve the object of educating and creating awareness among its members in the fields of Direct Tax, Indirect Tax, Allied Laws, Corporate Laws, and International Tax etc. It has a robust membership strength of about 4,000 professionals, comprising Chartered Accountants, Advocates, Tax Practitioners, Company Secretaries, Corporates and Students.
