{"id":383061,"date":"2026-05-02T12:30:17","date_gmt":"2026-05-02T07:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/?p=383061"},"modified":"2026-05-02T12:24:13","modified_gmt":"2026-05-02T06:54:13","slug":"mp-hc-directs-verification-bjp-mla-pratima-bagri-caste-certificate","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2026\/05\/02\/mp-hc-directs-verification-bjp-mla-pratima-bagri-caste-certificate\/","title":{"rendered":"Congress Leader Challenges BJP MLA Pratima Bagri&#8217;s Scheduled Caste Certificate; MP HC Orders Scrutiny"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;\">\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Disclaimer:<\/span> <span style=\"font-style: italic;\">This has been reported after the availability of the order of the Court and not on media reports so as to give an accurate report to our readers.<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\"><span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Madhya Pradesh High Court:<\/span> In a writ petition filed by Congress Leader Pradeep Ahirwar seeking scrutiny of Raigaon&#8217;s BJP Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) Pratima Bagri&#8217;s caste certificate, <span style=\"color: #0e101a;\">the Division Bench of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Vivek Agarwal<\/span>* and Avanindra Kumar Singh, JJ.<\/span>, disposed of the petition, directing that the High-Level Caste Scrutiny Committee (Scrutiny Committee) shall pass an appropriate order within 60 days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The State submitted that it would direct the Scrutiny Committee to decide Pradeep Ahirwar&#8217;s complaint and communicate their decision to him within 60 days. The State further submitted that MLA Pratima Bagri would be called to partake in the prescribed procedure to verify whether the Scheduled Caste Certificate issued to her was valid.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Noting that both parties undertook to communicate this order to the Scrutiny Committee, the Court directed that after verification of the said Certificate, the Scrutiny Committee shall pass an appropriate order within 60 days from the said communication. The Court further directed that if the Scrutiny Committee fails to pass an appropriate order within the prescribed time frame, Pradeep Ahirwar had the liberty to apply for revival of the present petition.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Accordingly, the writ petition was disposed of.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">[<span style=\"font-weight: bold;
