With this revision, the DA\/DR rate stands enhanced from <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2025\/10\/01\/cabinet-increases-3-percent-da-dr-july-2025\/\" target=\"_blank\">58%<\/a><\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">to 60%<\/span> of Basic Pay\/Pension.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The revised rates will be effective from <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">1 January 2026<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%; font-weight: bold;\">Also Read: Last Year, in July Cabinet approved a 3% increase in Dearness Allowance and Dearness Relief for Central Government employees and pensioners.<\/p>\n<h2>Key Highlights:<\/h2>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>Chaired by <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi<\/span>, the Union Cabinet sanctioned a <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">2% increase<\/span> over the existing DA\/DR rate to compensate for price rise.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The decision is estimated to place an additional financial burden of <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">&#8377;6,791.24 crore per annum<\/span> on the exchequer.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>The increase will benefit about:<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 36pt; text-indent: -18pt;\">&#9675; <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Employees:<\/span> 50.46 lakh<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-left: 36pt; text-indent: -18pt;\">&#9675; <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Pensioners:<\/span> 68.27 lakh<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The enhancement has been implemented in line with the <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">accepted formula recommended by the 7th Central Pay Commission<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold; margin-bottom: 3%;\">Also Read: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.scconline.com\/blog\/post\/2026\/04\/08\/revised-variable-dearness-allowance-rates-applicable-from-1-april\/\" target=\"_blank\">Govt.
