On 17 March 2026, the University Grants Commission<\/span> (UGC) issued a public warning against Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Technology & Management<\/span>, District Alwar, Rajasthan.<\/p>\n

    According to the notice, Rajeev Gandhi Institute of Technology & Management<\/span> has been officially included in the UGC’s list of Fake Universities<\/span>, for illegally awarding academic degrees in violation of the University Grants Commission Act, 1956<\/a> (UGC Act).<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    The institute is not recognised<\/span> under Section 2(f)<\/a><\/span> or Section 3<\/a><\/span> of the UGC Act<\/a>, therefore lacks legal authority<\/span> to function as a university or to confer Undergraduate (UG) or Postgraduate (PG) degrees<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Despite this lack of recognition, the institute continued awarding degrees<\/span>, all of which the UGC has declared invalid and unacceptable<\/span> for higher education or government employment<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    The UGC has clarified that degrees issued by the institute hold no academic or professional value under Indian law<\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n
