Harish Memorial Government Law College International Moot Court Competition, 2026.<\/p>\n<h2>Panel Discussion:<\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Moot is accompanied by a Panel Discussion that delves into current, pressing socio-legal questions. Featuring eminent legal luminaries, journalists, media personalities, and subject-matter experts, this discussion offers unique insights into contemporary legal and societal issues. The topic for this year&#8217;s Panel Discussion is <span style=\"font-weight: bold; font-style: italic;\">&#8220;The Current West Asia Conflict: Have the Rules of War Been Violated, Can States Be Held Accountable. Has the United Nations Framework Become Obsolete?&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Our esteemed Panelists for the evening will be <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Mr. Milind Deora<\/span>, Member of Rajya Sabha &amp; former Minister of State for Communications &amp; Information Technology and Shipping; <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Commodore (Dr.) Srikant B. Kesnur (Retd.)<\/span>, a Navy Veteran, and active contributor to maritime strategy discussions and founder of Meluha Maritime Consulting; <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Commodore (Dr.) Johnson Odakkal (Retd.)<\/span>, a Navy Veteran, maritime strategist, and educator with over 44 years of leadership spanning global defence and international education; <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Sr. Adv. Navroz Seervai<\/span>, a distinguished advocate with over four decades of practice, who has appeared before the Hon&#8217;ble Supreme Court, the Hon&#8217;ble Bombay High Court, the Hon&#8217;ble NCLT, and various other forums; and <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Prof. Kishu Daswani<\/span>, a Professor of Law at Government Law College, Mumbai, for more than 25 years and an expert in various subjects of law.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">This Discussion will be moderated by <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Sr. Adv. Sharan Jagtiani<\/span>, an accomplished advocate with over 25 years of experience, who regularly appears before the Hon&#8217;ble Supreme Court, the Hon&#8217;ble Bombay High Court, and various other forums. Chagla<\/span>, <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Hon&#8217;ble Mr. Justice Firdosh Phiroze Pooniwalla<\/span>, and <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">Hon&#8217;ble Mr. Justice Advait M. Sethna<\/span> of the Hon&#8217;ble Bombay High Court.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Moot Compromis presents a complex dispute in international law arising from alleged transboundary environmental harm and climate change impacts. It centres on a conflict between a developed State supporting large-scale industrial activities and an ecologically vulnerable coastal State experiencing severe ecological and climatic consequences. The case also deals with the implications of a prior international court judgment, particularly issues of non-compliance and its legal consequences.
