Since its inception in 2013, the Department has emphasized innovative pedagogy, academic excellence, and research-driven legal scholarship in areas such as constitutional law, criminal law, and intellectual property law. The Department fosters diversity of thought, inclusivity, and professional competence, preparing students for careers in litigation, judiciary, civil services, academia, and entrepreneurship.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The Competition is organised in collaboration with the Ranka Public Charitable Trust, established in 1980 by Late Dr. N. M. Ranka, Senior Advocate. The Trust promotes Gandhian philosophy, legal awareness, education, and philanthropy. It has pioneered moot court competitions in Jaipur and has organized over 20 national-level competitions in collaboration with reputed institutions.<\/p>\n<h2>Details of the Event<\/h2>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">The <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">5<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> VGU&#8212;Ranka Moot Court Competition, 2026<\/span> will be held from <span style=\"font-weight: bold;\">10<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> &#8211; 12<span style=\"vertical-align: super;\">th<\/span> April 2026<\/span> at VGU, Jaipur.<\/p>\n<p>The moot proposition revolves around a constitutional challenge concerning military infrastructure development in ecologically sensitive regions, raising critical questions on:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>National security vs. environmental protection<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Sustainable development principles<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Scope of fundamental rights under Articles 14, 19 &amp; 21<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Validity of restrictions on protests<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Applicability of environmental laws to defence projects<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Competition will consist of:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>Preliminary Rounds<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p>Researcher official language of the competition is English.<\/p>\n<h2>Eligibility<\/h2>\n<p>The Competition is open to:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"list-style-type: disc;\">\n<li>\n<p>Students enrolled in 5-year integrated law programmes, and<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<li>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Students enrolled in 3-year LL.B. programmes,<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">from any University\/College\/Department recognised by the Bar Council of India.<\/p>\n<p style=\"margin-bottom: 3%;\">Each team shall consist of 2 or 3 members (2 Speakers + 1 Researcher, or 1 Speaker + 1
